The Belfast Trojans, Northern Ireland’s most decorated American Football team are recruiting players to take the field for the 2023 Season! NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE is needed to try out for the team.
Whilst athleticism, strength and speed are all common abilities across the many different positions, American Football offers roles for players of all shapes and sizes, no one should feel excluded.
If this describes you then you only need to attend ONE of our tryouts to be assessed by our Coaches. All that you need for the tryout is to wear clothing suitable for outdoor training and bring your own water bottle. We practice come rain or shine.

The Belfast Trojans are recruiting new players for our Flag Football squad this Saturday, July 10th at Deramore Park, Belfast Harlequins Club.

🏆 Honours: Shamrock Bowl x 5, Atlantic Cup x1
💚 Favourite memory as a Trojan: Winning a bowl is always good, however, our trip to play the East Kilbride Pirates was great craic.
With a career spanning well over a decade with the Trojans, David “Banterfox” Steele has been a stalwart both as player and coach in an era of unprecedented success. A key member of the formidable Trojans D Line during the four in a row streak in the early to mid 2010s, David competed with and against the best that AFI had to offer. As his playing days ended he took up the call to coach a new generation of defensive linemen and that Defense was hugely impressive on the way to winning the Club’s sixth bowl in 2025.

💚 Favourite memory as a Trojan: ‘The Music City Miracle’, the lateral pass kick-return TD vs Sewanee College in 2016.
One of the most feared attacking talents in AFI history, Jona Siri spearheaded the Trojans ground game with lightning speed and the ability to overpower the most dogged of defenders. From Shamrock Bowl touchdowns to the unforgettable kick return score against the visiting Sewanee College, Jona provided countless memorable moments for the Trojan Nation.
Now that his playing days are behind him Jona has contributed hugely as a coach, imparting his knowledge to a flourishing new generation of Trojans running backs.
